Shayne Nathaniel Larcher was fortunate enough to have a vast musical heritage, which instilled him with a vigilant mindset and rare foundation of musical knowledge and integrity. Despite his artistic lineage, he was still raised to never be fed with a silver spoon. Thus, he had to prove he really wanted to be by searching and grabbing any opportunity on his own merit. Over the past several years after joining the entertainment industry from interning and working at various studios in Toronto, as well as setting up stages or operating tech for events between Montréal and Niagara, Shayne has been exposed to a variety of artists and genres. Through almost 20 years of experimenting with different sounds, while growing up with meticulously focus on sharpening his skills, Shayne was poised with his desire to unite all of his styles throughout each era of his musical career to represent his mixed ethnicity and eclectic nature. Thus, for years, he remained in the shadows, observing current musical trends, technological advancements, and paradigm shifts that have allowed cultures to express themselves more accessibly, while crafting his own timeless vision that would transcend the status quo of everything for Multicultural Canadian artists.
In 2022, he finally found the perfect prospect who could illustrate the original designs for his eclectic team of musical aliases, Shayne Larcher Orchestra. As for the original designs of these characters, Shayne wanted to find an artist whose portfolio and style represented the classical prolific nature of some of his greatest inspirations. Thus, he decided to collaborate with legendary illustrator Gregory Hawkins, who was the mastermind behind the designs for the original T-Shirts for FREAKNIK, as well as the staging mural banners for Babyface & LA Reid, as well as illustrated the album artwork for OutKast's Aquemini album; all of which were cultural classics for his parents generation. With that being said, this act was true homage to the legacy laid down before him. In 2023, Shayne Larcher Orchestra (SLO) was established with the name inspired by his Grandad's St. Lucian classical ensemble Southern Lights Orchestra.
On June 17th, 2024, Shayne publicly disclosed the team as an official group, dubbed Shayne Larcher Orchestra; which consists of the travelling cinephile, SalvadorAudi, the storytelling blerd, R0N1N, the conscious shaman, BaBa NtchR, the time-jumping family man, TimeMaster, and the most lovable, AUDACI. In unison, SLO travel around in the ChronoMech (CM58) to different spaces and times, collaborating with various artists from each environment with the intention of not only giving their new friends the deserved exposure, but as well as contribute to the horizons of mixed cultures between Canadian-Caribbean and French-Canadian nations.

A simplification of the points-based system that will determine whose skills will make them clash boss, and which sound will be killed in the process.
Before yuh drop a plate or call a clash, yuh haffi overstand di stats behind di sound. This ain’t random. It’s math in motion—energy, vibes, and numbers blendin’ fi calculate who rise and who fall. Let’s break down every part of yuh warrior’s data set so you can build yuh deck, read yuh opponent, and move like a genius on wax.
HP represent how much crowd energy yuh character can take before they get silenced. Think of it like yuh stamina or how long yuh can hold the mic under fire.
-
In SoundClash terms:
-
The crowd feeds off energy, and when your HP hit zero? Di people stop listenin’. Yuh done. HP drops when you take a hit from Attack Dubplates, or suffer from certain Trap effects or Special Abilities.
-
-
Tips for play:
-
HP can be restored by certain Buffs or Awakening moves.
-
Characters with lower HP usually have high offensive stats, so play aggressive or stay protected.
-
Use Dubplate Counters and SP strategically to delay a wipeout.
-
SP is your spiritual charge—your rhythm, your tempo, your connection to the vibes. You spend SP to activate abilities, trigger Dubplates, or perform Awakenings.
-
In SoundClash terms:
-
Every pull of a move costs someting—SP is the emotional, magical currency of war.
-
-
SP can be used for:
-
Activating character abilities
-
Countering or weakening opponent moves
-
Powering up in Selecta Mode
-
Triggering Awakenings (Ultimate Forms)
-
Amplifying damage during critical Dubplate combos
-
-
Tips for play:
-
Don’t burn all your SP early—conserve it like vinyl in a dub crate.
-
Some Buffs let you generate SP passively.
-
Study your opponent’s SP levels to predict big plays or traps.
-

The Star System represents base stats for every character, and these stars influence how they perform in specific areas of the game. Each stat is rated between 1 and 5 stars (⭐), with 5 being exceptional. Characters are defined by their strengths and weaknesses in these areas, and the Star System helps players strategize how to utilize them in battle.
-
This system determines the foundation for each character’s playstyle, and understanding it is key to calculating moves, anticipating counters, and executing winning strategies.
Strength measures the raw power of physical or energy-based attacks—how hard a character can hit and how much damage they can inflict with attacks like electric punches, soundwave blasts, or even physical strikes.
-
How to use it:
-
Offensive Playstyle: Focus on raw damage-dealing moves, maximizing combos that capitalize on Strength.
-
Counterplay: Characters with high Strength can break through weaker Defense stats and break through heavy shields or blocks.
-
-
Tactical Advantage:
-
If a character has 4 or 5 stars in Strength, prioritize high-damage moves and combos.
-
Boost Strength with certain Buffs that amplify damage output.
-
Speed measures how quickly a character can move, react, and make decisions. This stat is crucial for both dodging attacks and executing quick offensive maneuvers.
-
How to use it:
-
Evasion and Chase: Players with high Speed can often outmaneuver slower characters or chase down opponents after attacks.
-
Aggression: Use Speed to maintain offensive pressure—attacking and retreating quickly.
-
-
Tactical Advantage:
-
Speed is perfect for hit-and-run strategies—you can hit hard and retreat before your opponent can retaliate.
-
Boost Speed with Buffs that give extra turns or enhance momentum-based attacks.
-
Defense measures how much damage a character can absorb. High Defense means they can take hits without dropping HP easily, but it’s not just about being tough—it’s also about resisting specific attack types (e.g., electric-based or sound-based attacks).
-
How to use it:
-
Stalling and Survivability: Characters with high Defense can weather the storm of incoming attacks and survive longer in battle. They’re great at holding the line.
-
Counter Defense: When your opponent is aggressive, use Defensive Buffs and strategies that make your character immune to certain damage types.
-
-
Tactical Advantage:
-
Use characters with solid Defense to tank damage for teammates or take the heat when you're under pressure.
-
If Defense is low, play a mobile, evasive strategy to avoid direct confrontations.
-
Agility measures movement precision and reaction speed—how well a character can weave through the battlefield, dodge incoming attacks, and strike at vulnerable points. High Agility allows quick positioning and tactical fluidity.
-
How to use it:
-
Mobility and Positioning: Characters with high Agility excel in controlling space, evading attacks, and dodging counters. They can also set up devastating counterattacks by anticipating opponents’ moves.
-
Disruption: Use Agility to disrupt opponents’ flow, darting between attack zones to confuse and frustrate them.
-
-
Tactical Advantage:
-
Play an elusive, guerrilla-style game, where you’re always in motion and hard to pin down.
-
Agility can be used to avoid Buffed Attacks or reset positioning after a major hit.
-
Rhythm Control measures how well a character manipulates time, tempo, and flow within the game. Characters with high Rhythm Control can chain attacks seamlessly, creating deadly combos that overwhelm the opponent.
-
How to use it:
-
Combo Building: This stat is essential for players who want to maximize damage output through complex attack chains and combo setups.
-
Tempo Domination: Characters with great Rhythm Control can set the pace of the match, forcing opponents to follow their rhythm.
-
-
Tactical Advantage:
-
Play an aggressive, combo-centric strategy, focusing on building up your rhythm meter and controlling the flow of battle.
-
Rhythm Control also helps you capitalize on weak opponents who struggle to follow the rhythm of the battle.
-
Tactical Awareness is the ability to read the battlefield and think strategically in real time. Characters with high Tactical Awareness are excellent at anticipating enemy moves and adjusting their strategy accordingly.
-
How to use it:
-
Adaptive Playstyle: Use your Awareness to counter specific tactics, trap opponents, or switch strategies mid-game.
-
Battlefield Manipulation: Characters with high Tactical Awareness can control the pace of the match by controlling key areas and avoiding traps.
-
-
Tactical Advantage:
-
Plan ahead—anticipate enemy moves, read their playstyle, and adapt your strategy to gain the upper hand.
-
Combine with Buffs that slow opponents down or make them more predictable.
-
Adaptability measures how well a character can change tactics based on the situation. High Adaptability allows a character to shift between offense and defense seamlessly, adjusting to the needs of the moment.
-
How to use it:
-
Switch Up Playstyles: Use Adaptability to surprise opponents with unpredictable moves, forcing them into defensive postures.
-
Change Tactics Mid-Game: Characters with high Adaptability can quickly respond to opponent counters and adjust their strategy on the fly.
-
-
Tactical Advantage:
-
Use this stat to outwit your opponent by constantly altering the direction of the clash, keeping them off balance.
-
Combo with Buffs that trigger when your character changes tactics.
-
Spatial Dominance measures how effectively a character controls the battlefield. This includes controlling distance, positioning, and strategic movements to limit opponent options.
-
How to use it:
-
Pressure and Space Control: Characters with strong Spatial Dominance can dictate where the battle happens, cornering opponents and forcing them into vulnerable positions.
-
Tactical Use of Space: Use your superior positioning to set traps, ambush, or force the opponent into a corner where their options are limited.
-
-
Tactical Advantage:
-
Keep your opponent pinned down and limit their movement by controlling the battlefield with your superior Spatial awareness.
-
Cultural Influence represents how well a character impacts the crowd, the audience, and the greater community through their style, vibe, and presence.
-
How to use it:
-
Crowd Manipulation: Use your influence to increase Hype, buff your team, or demoralize your opponent.
-
Signature Moves: Characters with high Cultural Influence can create iconic moments that resonate and impact the game in powerful ways.
-
-
Tactical Advantage:
-
Use Crowd Buffs and style-based abilities to gain momentum and enhance your performance.
-
Influence the energy of the match to increase your SP regeneration or HP recovery.
-
Cosmic Energy Mastery measures how well a character can harness and control vast amounts of cosmic or spiritual energy to unleash powerful attacks or defensive measures.
-
How to use it:
-
Energy Burst Attacks: Use this stat for massive, high-impact moves that deal explosive damage or disrupt the battlefield.
-
Energy Conservation: High Cosmic Energy Mastery characters may struggle with energy management, so balance your big plays.
-
-
Tactical Advantage:
-
Use Cosmic Energy strategically for game-changing moves but be careful about running out of energy too quickly.
-
Ancestral Resonance reflects a character’s connection to their roots and ancestral heritage, granting access to powerful spiritual abilities.
-
How to use it:
-
Spiritual Buffs: Characters with Ancestral Resonance can access powerful, ritualistic Buffs that offer protection or healing.
-
Strategic Play: These abilities can turn the tide in critical moments, granting protection or enhancing offensive tactics when needed.
-
-
Tactical Advantage:
-
Activate ancestral power at key moments to heal or counter significant damage.
-
Combine with defensive moves to create a resilient force.
-
This breakdown outlines the core Star System mechanics and how they apply universally to every character. Understanding each stat and how to leverage Buffs, SP, HP, and Star ratings allows for strategic planning and smart moves during every battle.
-
Your spiritual resonance. Impacts SP generation, Awakening synergy, and soul-based techniques.
- Each stat runs from ★ to ★★★★★
-
A ★★★ in Power means you hit decent. A ★★★★★ in Style? You a whole wildcard.
Further Tips for play:
-
Build your deck around your highest-rated stars.
-
Pair teammates with complementary stats in Crew Battles.
-
Use Style-heavy characters for unpredictable plays and mind games.
To apply Buffs to your stats in a game, it’s important to understand that Buffs are temporary enhancements that boost specific stats or abilities during a match or encounter. Buffs can come in many forms, such as from items, abilities, or environmental factors within the game. The application of Buffs should be based on your character’s playstyle and the strategic needs at any given moment.
Here’s how Buffs can be applied to the Star System:
How Buffs Apply to Your Stats:
-
Buffs Increase Stat Ratings Temporarily
-
Buffs can increase the rating of any stat by a certain amount, making a character temporarily stronger in that area. For example, if your Speed stat is normally ★★★★☆, a Buff might increase it to ★★★★★ for a limited time.
Example Buffs:
-
Speed Buff: A special move or item might give you a +1 to Speed, pushing your rating from ★★★★☆ to ★★★★★.
-
Strength Buff: A power-up might temporarily increase your Strength stat from ★★★☆☆ to ★★★★☆, letting you hit harder for the duration of the Buff.
-
-
-
Buffs Modify Stat Multipliers
-
Some Buffs may not increase a stat’s star rating, but instead provide a multiplier effect to that stat. For example, if your Agility is at ★★★★★, a Buff could double its effect, allowing you to dodge attacks at twice the normal rate.
Example Buffs:
-
Rhythm Buff: Increase the Rhythm Control multiplier, allowing you to chain attacks more smoothly and dish out more damage through combos.
-
Tactical Awareness Buff: Increases your awareness of opponents, helping you predict their next move more easily, even if your Tactical Awareness stat is lower than your opponent’s.
-
-
-
Buffs Can Apply to Specific Abilities
-
Certain Buffs may apply specifically to combat abilities or special moves instead of the character’s overall stat rating. For example, a Cosmic Energy Buff could increase the power or reduce the energy cost of a character’s ultimate move or energy-based attack.
Example Buffs:
-
Cultural Influence Buff: Temporarily increases the impact of a character’s signature move. This could boost crowd reaction, increasing the damage dealt or triggering additional effects.
-
Cosmic Mastery Buff: Increases the strength or duration of Cosmic Energy Attacks, reducing the cost of abilities or allowing for more devastating energy blasts.
-
-
-
Buffs Affect Multiple Stats Simultaneously
-
Some Buffs may provide a global boost to multiple stats at once. For example, a “Hype Mode” Buff could increase Strength, Speed, and Tactical Awareness for a brief period, giving the character an edge across multiple areas of their playstyle.
Example Buffs:
-
Speed Boost: Temporarily boosts Speed and Agility, letting you perform faster moves or evade more effectively.
-
Ancestral Resonance Buff: Temporarily increases Ancestral Resonance, giving you the ability to tap into ancestral power and enhance defense or healing effects.
-
-
-
Debuffs vs. Buffs
-
While Buffs improve your stats, Debuffs lower an opponent’s stats, making them weaker. When applying Buffs, it’s important to strategize to overcome Debuffs placed on your character, as these can affect core stats like Defense or Strength.
-
Strategic Application of Buffs:
Here are a few ways you can strategically use Buffs to optimize your character’s performance:
-
Buffs as Counterplay
-
Buffs can be used in response to an opponent’s actions. For example, if your opponent lowers your Defense, you might use a Defense Buff to negate that effect and maintain your resistance against their attacks.
Example:
-
If your opponent uses a debuff that targets Tactical Awareness, you can apply a buff that enhances your ability to anticipate their moves.
-
-
-
Buffs to Focus on a Key Stat
-
If you know your character excels in a certain area, you can apply a Buff to that stat, maximizing your character’s strengths.
Example:
-
Speed and Agility Buff: If your character is built around mobility, applying these buffs will allow you to overwhelm opponents with quick, evasive attacks while maintaining pressure.
-
-
-
Buffs for Offensive or Defensive Play
-
Buffs can either be offensive or defensive. You can use an offensive Buff to increase your damage output when attacking or use a defensive Buff to increase survivability when you’re being attacked.
Example:
-
Offensive Buff: Boosts Strength and Rhythm Control to chain attacks together and deal maximum damage.
-
Defensive Buff: Increases Defense and Tactical Awareness, giving you the ability to evade and recover from attacks more efficiently.
-
-
-
Buffs to Breakthrough Weaknesses
-
If your character has a weak point (e.g., low Defense or limited Cosmic Energy Mastery), you can apply Buffs to cover that weakness, making your character more well-rounded.
Example:
-
If your character has low Defense, apply a Defense Buff or a Speed Buff to enable better evasion and reduce incoming damage.
-
-
-
Timing Buffs for Key Moments
-
Some Buffs can be timed for maximum effect—like using a Cosmic Energy Mastery Buff before unleashing an ultimate attack. Timing these buffs correctly can give you a significant advantage.
Example:
-
Before using an ultimate move or an energy blast, activate a Cosmic Energy Mastery Buff to boost the power and efficiency of your move.
-
-
How Buffs Are Applied in Combat:
-
Active Abilities:
Some characters have active abilities that they can trigger during battle to apply Buffs. These abilities might last for several turns or just a brief moment. Timing is key to activating Buffs when you need them most.
-
Items/Consumables:
Certain in-game items (e.g., potions, food, or tech devices) can provide temporary Buffs to specific stats.
Example:
-
A Power Serum might temporarily boost your Strength and Agility for a few turns.
-
A Cultural Charm could temporarily enhance Cultural Influence, increasing the effect of your crowd moves or signature abilities.
-
-
Environmental Buffs:
Some areas of the battlefield may provide natural Buffs to characters (such as a charging station for energy powers or a soundproof zone that boosts Rhythm Control). Characters can take advantage of the environment for temporary boosts.
-
Buff Stacking:
Some Buffs can stack, but not all. If you apply multiple Buffs of the same type (e.g., Speed Buffs), the effect might increase incrementally, but stacking different types of Buffs (e.g., Speed + Strength Buffs) can often create powerful synergies.
Examples of Buffs Applied to Stats:
-
S T R E N G T H:
-
Buff: +1 Strength for 3 turns (★★★★☆ to ★★★★★).
-
Effect: Your attacks hit harder and deal more damage.
-
-
S P E E D:
-
Buff: +2 Speed for 2 turns (★★★★☆ to ★★★★★).
-
Effect: You move faster, can dodge more easily, and increase your momentum-based attacks.
-
-
D E F E N S E:
-
Buff: +1 Defense for 4 turns (★★★☆☆ to ★★★★☆).
-
Effect: You absorb more damage, making it harder for enemies to break through your defenses.
-
-
A G I L I T Y:
-
Buff: +1 Agility for 3 turns (★★★★★ to ★★★★★+).
-
Effect: You become even more mobile, allowing you to avoid attacks more effectively.
-
-
R H Y T H M C O N T R O L:
-
Buff: +1 Rhythm Control for 2 turns (★★★★★ to ★★★★★+).
-
Effect: You can chain attacks more fluidly and increase combo potential.
-
By understanding how Buffs function and applying them effectively to the right stats at the right times, you can optimize your character’s performance and outsmart your opponents in battle.
SoundClash ain't just vibes—it's numbers:
-
Total Damage = Base Attack + Power Stars + Buff Modifiers – Opponent's Defense
-
(e.g. 3 Power Stars + 20 base damage + Buff = 35 – 10 Defense stat = 25 HP damage)
-
-
SP Economy = Generated SP – Cost of Moves Played
-
Track this to manage high-level combo timing and Awakening builds.
-
-
Clash Prediction = (Opponent’s Visible Stats + Current SP + Last Played Card Type)
-
Advanced players read patterns to counter with precision.
-
-
Crowd Control Points (Optional Rule)
-
As the game evolves, players may introduce a Hype Meter where crowd reaction (based on Bluff success, unique Dubplates, and epic saves) earns points that impact endgame scoring.
-
Stats don’t win games. Strategy does.
But when you understand the Supreme Mathematics?
You not just playin’ the game—you become di music.
"Master di numbers, control di riddim. Di realest warriors know—mathematics and mysticism go hand in hand in a SoundClash."

Each round consists of 3 Phases, and players take turns one at a time.
1. Drop Phase (Set the Tempo)
-
Choose one of your Character Figures to enter the Clash.
-
Each character has:
-
HP (Hype Points) – Determines how long they last.
-
SP (Soul Power) – Used for abilities & Awakenings.
-
7 Special Abilities – to shift the tide of battle.
-
5 Awakening Powers – for game-changing moments.
-
-
-
Select and drop a Dubplate Card (Attack or Buff).
-
Players also build a 15-20 Dubplate Deck
-
Dubplates act as power-ups & abilities, not the main battle mechanic.
-
-
Spend SP (Sound Power) to activate an ability or set up your next move.
-
Each character regenerates SP at the start of the turn.
-
If a character’s SP is maxed out, they can unleash an Awakening Power!
-
Players draw a Dubplate card, which can be used for buffs or counters.
-
2. Clash Phase (Counter & Respond)
-
Opponent has 3 options:
-
Counter: Play a Dubplate with a higher Power Level to block.
-
Players can use Dubplates or a Crew Member’s abilities to block, dodge, or counter.
-
Crew Members can jump in for a defensive move but cost SP to do so.
-
Some abilities let you remix an opponent’s move, forcing them to change tactics.
-
-
-
-
Clash: Use their Character’s ability to neutralize or reverse the attack.
-
Remember, Dubplates are not the main focus, as characters use direct attacks & special abilities to gain Hype Points and knock out opponents.
-
Standard Attack: Characters can attack directly, dealing Base DMG (Hype Loss).
-
Special Abilities: Each turn, players can spend SP to trigger a special move.
-
Dubplate Boosts: Instead of dealing damage, Dubplates now work as:
-
Boosters (Power up a character’s next move.)
-
Counters (Interrupt an opponent’s attack or special ability.)
-
Combo Extenders (Allow follow-up attacks.)
-
-
-
-
-
-
Take the Hit: Absorb the effect and strategize for the next turn.
-
3. Encore Phase (Strategic Follow-Up)
-
If your attack lands, you may:
-
Chain a Combo Move if you have enough SP.
-
Set a Delayed Drop (a move that triggers next turn).
-
Recover SP by passing your turn to build energy.
-
-
If a character runs out of HP, they’re KO’d!
-
If a Crew Leader is KO’d, the game ends!
-
Players gain Hype Points (HP) based on performance, combos, & counters.
-
First to reach X Hype Points OR KO all opponents WINS the SoundClash!
Repeat until one player’s Crew runs out of SP or loses all Characters.

C A R D T Y P E S
Dubplates bring the heat—use them to attack, power up, or set traps, and learn how to shut down your opponent’s moves with smart counters.
Dubplate Card Actions:
-
Attack Dubplates: Offensive moves that reduce an opponent’s SP or disable abilities.
-
Buff Dubplates: Power-ups that strengthen your Crew for a few turns.
-
Trap Dubplates: Hidden moves that activate when attacked.
Countering Dubplates:
-
Power Clash – If the opponent plays a stronger Dubplate, it overrides yours.
-
Ability Clash – If your Character has a counter ability, you can nullify the Dubplate.
-
SP Deflect – Spend extra SP to weaken the Dubplate's effect.
Special Rule: Selecta Mode

1. Awakening Card Activation (Fastest method)
-
Mechanic: Play a special Awakening Card from your hand.
-
Effect: Instantly activates Awakening and boosts one stat of your choice by an extra star level for the duration.
-
Usage: Limited—can only be included once per deck or used once per character per match.
-
Balance Factor: Rare, telegraphed, and risky if countered or wasted.
Lore Justification: This card represents a preparedness for transcendence—the character has already done the inner work and carries their Awakening like a trigger.
2. Breakthrough Condition (Climactic Battle Trigger)
-
Mechanic: Awakening activates automatically when the following 3 conditions are met:
-
You have 2 or fewer stats remaining at ★★★☆☆ or lower (you’re beaten down).
-
You have taken 1000+ damage in total over the match.
-
You land a counterattack or combo that deals 10+ damage in a single turn (comeback energy).
-
-
Effect: Awakening activates as a comeback mechanic, giving your character a second wind and shifting the momentum.
-
Usage: Can only happen once per match per character.
-
Balance Factor: You’re close to losing—this is a last-stand moment.
Lore Justification: Represents the emotional, spiritual, or identity crisis point where your hero either transcends their trauma or dies trying. It's the “I remember who I am” moment.
3. Spiritual Sync (Resonance + Roleplay Mechanics)
-
Mechanic: Requires fulfilling a narrative or synergy-based mini-challenge tied to the character’s archetype or story. You must:
-
Trigger a Bond Effect (e.g., support from a teammate or synergy card).
-
Successfully perform a 3-turn sequence where your actions match your archetype’s principles (e.g., Lover, King, Caregiver, Shaman).
-
Spend 1 Energy Core or discard 2 cards from your hand (sacrifice).
-
-
Effect: Awakening activates, but it’s tied to your thematic alignment, not just numbers.
-
Usage: Only once per game, and only if the player is actively roleplaying or building their deck to support it.
-
Balance Factor: Takes skill, deck synergy, and intention—not something that “just happens.”
Lore Justification: Represents a sacred alignment of self, purpose, and rhythm—when your character is spiritually ready, they awaken in harmony with their archetype’s path.
4. SP Overflow (Max Soul Point Activation)
-
Mechanic:
-
If a character reaches maximum SP (Soul Points)—usually 10 SP—you may choose to spend all 10 SP in a single turn to trigger Awakening.
-
This immediately activates their awakened state and allows them to use their Ultimate Move on the same or following turn.
-
-
Effect:
-
Activating Awakening through Max SP does not boost your stats for free. Instead:
-
You get access to your Ultimate Ability
-
You can choose to increase any 2 stat categories by +1 star for the remainder of the game (player’s choice)
-
-
-
Strategic Trade-Off:
-
You lose all your SP in the process—meaning you can’t use special attacks, signature moves, or support cards that cost SP for the rest of the match unless you regain them slowly.
-
It’s a “cash out” mechanic: you’ve been playing smart, building energy, now you blow it all in a single spiritual surge.
-
-
Strategic Flow
-
This method adds an economy-based path to Awakening, encouraging:
-
Decks that build SP through combos or passive abilities
-
Defensive or patient playstyles who time their Awakening for a game-ending reversal
-
New support cards or team abilities that can donate SP to help a teammate awaken
-
Lore Justification: SP represents Soul, Willpower, and Resonance. Maxing out your SP means you’ve either:
-
Resisted temptation
-
Stayed true to your core archetype
-
Or held back power long enough that it reaches a spiritual boiling point, such as a last resort
Awakening through SP isn’t just dramatic—it’s intentional, showing the player made sacrifices for a transcendent reward.
Additional Balance Options (Optional Layer)
-
Only 1 Awakening per Team Per Game: In team matches, this makes it a sacred strategic choice.
-
Awakening Cooldown: Lasts for 3 turns max, then burns out unless sustained by a support ability.
-
Counterplay: Enemies may use a Suppression Card or Ancestral Interruption ability to block or delay your Awakening—creating tension around it.
Strategic Philosophy
Each Awakening method should feel like:
-
A turning point, not a crutch.
-
A story beat, not just a stat boost.
-
A chance to flex not only gameplay skill but also narrative awareness.
Allyuh been trainin’ real hard—droppin’ cards, clashin’ wid vibes, and masterin’ di riddim like real sound warriors. But before we lock off dis session, I haffi give yuh a likkle roots an’ culture. ‘Cause yuh cyah step inna di arena and not know where dis ting come from.

Long before this game buss, Dubplates were exclusive cuts—custom versions of tunes—voiced by artists for select Sound Systems in di dancehalls of Jamaica. Is like gettin’ Bob Marley or Shabba Ranks to hail yuh name in a tune—only yuh, no one else. That exclusivity? That power? Dat’s what make Dubplates legendary.

Back in di 70s and 80s, when di bassline did shake di block and only real warriors controlled di crowd, Sound Systems like Stone Love, Jaro, and Killamanjaro would battle fi supremacy. Every plate dropped was a move—a flex of respect, creativity, an’ tactics. It wasn’t just music. It was spiritual warfare. Every plate, a chess piece. Pure war on wax!!!
-
Sound systems clash fi glory, fi respect, and fi legacy. One drop from a real Dubplate could mash up a whole dance. It wasn’t just about lyrics—it was about exclusivity, creativity, an’ vibes.
-
Every Dubplate was a weapon.
Yuh name get call by di artist? Dat’s not just a tune—that’s a musical blessing and a warning to di opposition.
-
Clash culture birthed legends.
From King Tubby and Jammys to Mighty Crown and Bass Odyssey—Dubplate culture crowned dem all.
-
Di counter? It ain’t just a block—it’s a response.
Countering a Dubplate in di streets meant yuh were ready fi war, ready to remix di very moment. Di crowd decide who run di place based on reaction and creativity.
Mi come from St. Lucia—small isle, big vibes. And trust—Dubplate culture reach all corners of di globe. Whether is London, Kingston, Tokyo, Toronto, or Castries—Dubplates unite di diaspora. -
Every time yuh pull a card or spend SP to activate a move, yuh channelin’ decades of rebel artistry. Whether yuh spinnin’ a counter from yuh deck or unleashin’ a full Awakening—just know, yuh echo di clash gods before yuh.
-
Your Dubplates are more than card gimmicks—they legacy.
-
Each one a custom move, just like inna real clash. You mash up SP, shut down powers, and buss combos just like a selector bussin’ shots in a dance.
-
-
Counter moves? Straight SoundClash spirit.
-
Whether yuh using SP Deflect or remixin’ di vibe with a Technique Card—that’s di same energy dat kept dancehalls live from Kingston to Brixton to Castries.
-
-
Awakenings? Dem ah di Reloads.
-
When di SP reach di peak, yuh drop dat Awakening like a final Dubplate dat make di crowd explode. Boom!
-
So now yuh trained, yuh armored, and yuh know where di ting originate—go out deh and represent like a true warrior of di riddim. Don’t play fi likes. Play fi legacy. Respect di clash, respect di sound, cuz is not just about winnin’—is about what yuh bring to di dance.
Jus remember dis, champions in trainin’: Dubplates built empires. SoundClash crowned kings. And now, yuh step into dat arena—backed by culture, powered by vibes.”
Tune yuh spirit. Study yuh cards. Respect di roots.
'Cause di clash nuh wait… and greatness don’t come cheap.
T R A I N I N G CO M P L E T E ..... But I’ll see yuh in di battlefield—where only di realest rise. Let di Dubplates speak, Champion!

As we delve into the future, we mustn't forget how much artists contribute significantly to cultural enrichment. They offer unique perspectives and insights that reflect the diversity and complexity of human experiences. By supporting visual artists, vocalists and musicians, we ensure that this cultural wealth continues to grow and evolve, enhancing our collective understanding and appreciation of the world. AI technologies, while powerful, lack the human touch that artists bring. Art created by humans often resonates on an emotional level, capturing nuances and subtleties that AI may not fully replicate. Supporting artists ensures that this human element remains present in our increasingly digital world. One can say artists are the custodians of cultural traditions and the pioneers of new artistic movements. Supporting them ensures that traditional art forms are preserved and new ones continue to emerge, providing a continuous evolution of art that reflects changing times and technologies.
We encourage you support our journey to provide Afro-Caribbean and Francophone diasporas, as well as their neighbours an audiovisual landscape and experience that will enrich, empower and elevate their wellbeing and state of consciousness. Our project aims to transform this series of unique illustrations into 3D printed action figures. These figures aren't just toys—they're symbols of cultural pride, as they are a celebration of heritage, identity and artistic collaboration. Each action figure is designed with cultural themes that resonate deeply with the communities we aim to serve. Proceeds from the sale of these action figures will go directly to the artist, allowing them to continue creating and inspiring others. We will provide underprivileged individuals in Ontario, Québec, and the Caribbean with free or low-cost access to these action figures, along with other culturally significant merchandise, toys, and accessories. By distributing these figures, we hope to inspire creativity, cultural pride, and joy in the lives of those who need it most.
As much as we like to try, we truthfully cannot clap with one hand. Thus, every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to our goal. By supporting this project, you’re not only backing a creative endeavour, but also helping to spread joy, culture, and creativity to those who need it most. Let's make a meaningful impact together in bringing these characters to life.
